Diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness — and in its early, most treatable stages, it causes no symptoms at all. Annual retinal screening is recommended for nearly everyone with diabetes, yet many patients miss it. We bring that screening into our office so it does not fall through the cracks.
Retinal Imaging for Diabetes
In-office diabetic eye screening — protecting your vision without a separate appointment.
How It Works
Using a Topcon retinal camera, we capture high-resolution images of the back of your eye during a routine visit — quickly, comfortably, and in most cases without dilating drops. The images are reviewed for signs of diabetic retinopathy and other changes. When findings warrant it, we coordinate prompt referral to an ophthalmologist, while routine results spare you an extra appointment.
Why Screening in Your Endocrinologist’s Office
Catching diabetic eye disease early is one of the most effective ways to prevent vision loss, and convenience drives compliance — screening that happens during a visit you are already attending is screening that actually gets done. It also closes the loop on comprehensive diabetes care: the same team managing your blood sugar can ensure your eyes are protected, year after year.
