We are now offering Qutenza (capsaicin 8% topical) for painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy at both of our locations.
Painful diabetic neuropathy — burning, tingling, or shooting pain in the feet — is one of the most difficult complications of diabetes to treat. Many patients are left relying on oral medications that can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or other side effects, and that do not always provide adequate relief.
Qutenza is a prescription topical treatment applied in the office to the affected areas. A single application can provide relief from nerve pain that lasts for months, and because it works locally on the skin’s pain-signaling nerves, it avoids the systemic side effects associated with many oral neuropathy medications. Treatments can be repeated as needed.
Offering Qutenza in-office at both locations means patients with painful diabetic neuropathy have another evidence-based option as part of their care with us — without a separate referral. If you experience foot pain from diabetic neuropathy and would like to discuss whether Qutenza is appropriate for you, please contact our office.
