Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists works as an extension of your practice. We see your patients quickly, communicate back clearly, and return them to your care with a plan. Whether the question is complex diabetes, a thyroid nodule that may be a candidate for ablation, an adrenal or pituitary finding, resistant hypertension, or a difficult bone or hormone problem, we are equipped to take it on.
Our colleagues’ trust matters most to us. In 2024 his San Diego physician peers selected Dr. Schneider as a San Diego Top Doctor in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (San Diego County Medical Society and San Diego Magazine); ours was the only private practice recognized in the specialty that year. At ENDO 2026 ours was the only practice invited to give an oral presentation on thyroid radiofrequency ablation, reporting six-month outcomes in 118 consecutive patients. We also offer every current insulin pump and CGM system, including twiist and Eversense, DEXA at our La Mesa Bone Health Clinic, and access to investigational therapies through EndoTrials.

Why refer to us
Board-certified endocrinologists. Both physicians are double board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, academically trained, with a physician-scientist at the helm.
Advanced thyroid ultrasound and interventional endocrinology. We perform in-office, ultrasound-guided procedures — thyroid nodule RFA and ethanol ablation, liver elastography, and Eversense CGM insertion — that few practices in San Diego offer. Our thyroid RFA outcomes were selected for presentation at ENDO 2026, the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting.
Clinical research. Through our affiliated research center, eligible patients can access clinical trials in diabetes, obesity, thyroid, and metabolic disease — therapies often years ahead of standard availability.
Rapid consultation pathways. We prioritize timely access for referred patients and clear communication back to the referring provider.

Send referrals and records to our office by fax or phone, and we will coordinate scheduling directly with your patient. For thyroid nodule or RFA questions, please include the most recent thyroid ultrasound and any biopsy results.
