Biography

Dr. Darius A. Schneider is the Medical Director of Diabetes & Endocrine Specialists and a board-certified endocrinologist who has practiced in San Diego for over two decades. He completed his medical training and earned his MD and PhD at Justus-Liebig-University in Germany, followed by clinical and research training in the United States, including a Fulbright Fellowship at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Schneider’s clinical expertise spans the full breadth of endocrine medicine, with particular depth in diabetes technology — including continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump initiation and management, and hybrid closed-loop systems — thyroid disorders including Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer, as well as osteoporosis and complex hormonal conditions that have eluded diagnosis elsewhere.

He has served as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials across diabetes, thyroid, bone health, and other therapeutic areas, and has participated in the TEDDY study at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and has been presented at national and international endocrinology conferences.

Dr. Schneider holds double board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) with specialty certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. He also holds the Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU), Type 1 Diabetes Certification, and Bone Certification from the American College of Endocrinology.
